I was recently Andrew’s Utica Cake Smash photographer, and before this I got to photograph his big sister’s cake smash too!

I can’t believe how much he’s grown since his newborn session (one day I’ll blog that one). Big sister Brynley woke up feeling under the weather, so she and dad stayed home. I’ll reschedule his family photos for a later date once school is out for summer.

I’ve known Andrew’s mom and dad for many years. Thanks to recent world health events I haven’t been able to enjoy the company of their kids as much as I would have liked to.

We did an adorable wild one theme for Andrew’s Utica cake smash. I loved this setup, I bought a tapestry off Amazon, added some balloons and vines. And my favorite part are the adorable animal cut outs! These are so fun to make and add to sets for extra pizazz, though they are time consuming to cut out.

Andrew as it turned out doesn’t eat a lot of food, he’s still preferring his mushy meals. So he wasn’t very into the cake. Thankfully he was willing to play in it and make a big mess. So we still had some great entertainment. His mom and I sat and caught up on all the things that have been going on in life the last few years, while he just slowly destroyed his cake.

It was so nice catching up with friends and seeing sweet Andrew again. If you are thinking about booking a cake smash session, plan to book a couple months in advance. I like to have plenty of planning and shopping time.
