This Rochester newborn session is my third for this family. And they have a special place in my heart. I feel like they bring such a welcome calm to my life, even if they have three little ones in tow. I’m not sure I’ve ever met more patient, and adoring parents. The love they have for each other, and their children, literally just radiates off them.

Sweet little Nora, affectionately known by the kids as ‘Gus-Gus’ at their maternity session came in feeling wide awake. Like every other September baby so far. But after a milk break and some snuggles with Dad, she knocked out for me. I adore every one of these images, and I wanted to cry with joy as we captured the family portraits. I know her mom and dad are going to be absolutely head over heels when they see their gallery.

Mom’s style is very specific. She loves her neutrals. Black, white and grey are always safe for them. She loves all things natural, and emotional. So I chose my props carefully, starting with this Moses basket. I had this vision of baby Nora in the basket, and her big siblings peeking in on her. Turns out it was harder to capture than I expected, they just wanted to touch her. But I love their sweet little faces as they peek over that basket edge.

Instead of moving to the flokati for a sibling pose, I chose to keep them on the bed with a beautiful cream blanket around them. I love these sibling poses, the kids kissed and snuggled. This is a hard sibling pose, kids tend to wiggle and jump around. But these two just laid there like I asked and held Nora tight. Did I mention that I adore these kids? Every session becomes my new favorite.
