This whole Covid crisis has really been a wild ride. Almost every wedding on my calendar this year has postponed or downsized to a celebration only a fraction of its original size. Kevin and Ebony are in that crowd. When I heard that they were postponing their wedding, I jumped on the chance to take them out on what should have been their wedding weekend for a fun engagement session. What better way to celebrate their love when we can’t celebrate their wedding. So here’s the story of their Detroit Engagement Session!
Ebony is originally from Australia (I could listen to her talk all day long, I love her accent). I first met her shortly after she arrived here in the states. Kevin was the officiant at a past wedding I photographed for Sarah and Garrett.
We originally planned to go to a park, but Kevin asked if we could head to Detroit, Michigan instead. So we settled on the Eastern Market area for their fun and colorful murals.
It’s felt like forever since I got dressed in real clothes and left my house. Ebony agreed, when she stepped out of the car in that adorable LBD (little black dress) we had a good laugh about how weird it was to plan for an outfit that wasn’t pajamas!
Kevin and Ebony are both teachers, they met in Germany and the rest is history!
Enjoy their Detroit engagement session!
I feel so sorry for all the couples having to move their wedding due to COVID. I can’t even imagine how hard that would be.
I just love this session. I love all the neat walls you used. So fun.
And I also love to hear people from Australia talk!
I adore these so much and it’s so amazing that you were able to photograph them on their would be wedding date! The graffiti is a perfect backdrop for this couple and I’m sure they’re looking forward to you capturing their wedding, too!
