Newborn, Cake Smash, Maternity Photography

We used all the vibrant colors in a newborn session today and it was so refreshing!! I can never decide. I am always team neutrals or beautiful dusty earth tones. But once in a while I get a parent that says they are open to whatever. So I throw caution to the wind and used some fun and vibrant colors.

Sweet little Arvin just looks amazing on everything. He was so adorable with his dark hard and chubby cheeks. His big brother was just as cute, even though he’s as serious as they come. Mom and Dad told me that big brother Riaan doesn’t enjoy being in photos. So I went in not expecting to much. Thankfully he was at least willing to sit for me, even if he didn’t want to smile. And that’s ok! I will always take a cooperative big sibling over a crying big sibling. Though both happen all the time.

We started with parent and family images. This session was special, Grandma and Grandpa came to get their picture with the grandkids as well. It’s a beautiful time to enjoy the support of grandparents. And I always welcome them if they’d like to be in photos. I do however recommend that they take off and head home after they’ve had their images done. Sometimes we can even wrangle them into taking big siblings home with them! The studio is warm, and adding extra bodies in can make it feel cramped as well. But in an effort to keep the studio calm and relaxing, it’s easier for just parents to stay for the long haul.

I truly hope you enjoy Arvin’s newborn session. I’m sure I’ll post more neutrals coming up, but I can’t wait to do vibrant colors in a newborn session again!
