When Avery’s mom approached me to be her Michigan Cake Smash Photographer, she had a specific vision in mind. I love when someone has a style they want and I can make that happen for them. Haley asked for a simple, sweet session with lots of flowers and wintry reds and golds included.

We actually had to reschedule once, because Haley had ordered this adorable little outfit from an online vendor but we happened to have a string of bad weather. The snowstorm delayed the outfits arrival. We moved it back a few weeks to let the outfit arrive, and it was so worthwhile!

Avery brought all the personality to her session. She smiled, and giggled. Her mom had this sweet little trick where she’d say “Are you cute?” and Avery would turn her head to the side and look at her like “ya, of course I’m cute Mom!” And then she smiled and laughed because she knew she was entertaining her watchers.

When we brought out her cake (from my favorite cake maker, Amber. You can find her on FaceBook), Avery’s eyes lit up! She could barely wait for the cake to land in front of her before she dove in. At first she was tentative and dainty. She took the teeniest swipe of frosting. But as she got comfortable and knew how delicious it was, her tastes got bigger!

Do you have a child that is about to turn one? Send me an email at Katie@KatieAntonPhotography.com to talk about what I can design for you!
