Newborn, Cake Smash, Maternity Photography

This is gearing up to be a busy end of the month as a Madison Heights Photographer. Jimmy is the first of five newborn sessions over the next week. My back already hurts!

Jimmy is the little brother of a past newborn, George. And he’s bringing his big brother with him for photos. I love having past babies back in the studio. Of course, he’s a big kid now, and I’m sure he’s excited to show off his baby brother.

We used some neutrals, browns and blues in Jimmy session. He makes baby boy #7 in a row, so I feel like I’m tapping into creative side to change things up these days so the sessions don’t all run together. Fortunately the day before his session I got this gorgeous new blue plaid in and I’m in love. It’s such a gorgeous blue color, I couldn’t wait to use it.

We started with photos of the boys together, because with big siblings, you just never know how they will do. And George did not disappoint. He was an absolute charmer, he snuggled Jimmy and sat so fantastic for us. While I always make sure to have a spotter, in case siblings decide to chuck baby and run. George just snuggled and loved on his little brother.

Then we did a few props, bucket in a couple varieties, my usual bucket prop and then this adorable brown basket that is perfect for supporting a leaning baby.

Jimmy of course, didn’t enjoy me touching his fingers, so it’s a battle of the wills. But he eventually relaxes enough to settle into poses.

My favorite part of returning siblings is seeing which poses parents loved so much in the first session to want captured again in sibling sessions. Mom really loved his side lay pose most!

In the end, it was a great session. Jimmy was an angel, and cute as a button. I can’t wait to see him back in a year to be his Madison Heights Photographer again!
