Ilona and I have been planning this New Haven newborn session for months. She emailed me a long time ago, I quickly got to know her pregnancy journey. We talked many times over those months as we awaited the arrival of her daughter.

I first got to meet Ilona at her studio maternity session. She wasn’t at all what I was expecting. To be totally honest, I don’t even know what I expected, but this tiny little blonde woman that walked in wasn’t it. Either way, we had a great visit, I really enjoyed meeting Ilona, but I have to say I was nervous about meeting her family. She kept telling me that her son (he’s 2) is the wildest of wild kids. She really made him seem like it was going to be a rough session. I had my assistant totally prepared to come with her best toddler wrangling skills in hand.

Sibling Expectations

You know what? Sebastian (or Seba as they call him) was not only freaking adorable, he was good as gold at their New Haven newborn session. He stumbled into our studio with this golden mop of curls on top of his head. Looking as unsure as any 2 year old is, he warmed up to Trish fast. After his initial uncertainty he pushed on to prove everyone’s doubts wrong. He did everything we asked of him. That included holding her, sitting by her, he smiled on demand. Ugh, I think Trish and I were fighting over who was going to try and keep him.

Now on to the baby of honor. Viviana was so adorable. She looked totally like her brother if you ask me. Just a sweet little blonde baby girl. This little angle is a true blessing from her big sister in heaven, and I think her parents are so grateful she is finally here with them.
