Today, being an Auburn Hills Newborn Photographer brings me this sweet little trio of kids. Two big brothers and their new baby sister. Did you grow up with siblings close in age? Mine are a decade older than I am (they’re going to hate me for saying that!). But I feel like Gianna is going to be equal parts tough, and sweet. She was just a doll for me. But she will have to stand up to those brothers of hers if she’s going to be heard!
Mom brought a few sentimental pieces she wanted incorporated into Gianna’s session. So I’m always mindful of the best ways to showcase those. I’d recently had one of Dad’s coworkers in to the studio. I had used the police hat recently and knew I loved it. Then Mom brought in her veil. She asked I use both the veil image and my rings in the toes photo together in her album. Since I have been photographing the rings vertically, I wanted to use the veil in a horizontal image. This will fill an album layout perfectly.
Keeping babies sleepy
Gianna didn’t want to miss the first part of her session. She made amazing eye contact with me during her parent poses. But she did tucker herself out eventually and we cruised through the rest of her newborn session. I was able to keep her asleep and cozy by switching back and forth between wrapped prop images and table poses. She enjoyed being wrapped up snug so it worked great to move through her session that way.
